The trail begins on the outskirts of Nughedu Saint Victoria and, passing through Perdu Orrù, leads to the Assai nature reserve, which offers magnificent views over the river Taloro and its wide valley.
Along the way you can also see the valley of Ottana with its industrial plants. Pressing on, you come to the nature reserve, where you can take advantage of the picnic areas managed by the Forestry Authority. This rest area is located in Alamoiu, from which it too takes its name. Within the Assai nature reserve you can visit the Natural history museum which houses numerous stuffed animals and a xylotheque.
Along the trail you can encounter many wildlife species typically found in forest habitats, while the repopulation enclosure houses Sardinian deer. Plant species to look out for include wild orchids, hawthorn, cyclamen and lavender. Not far from the reserve there is also an ancient charcoal-makers’ site. From Su Marghinesu, the trail leads to the panoramic viewpoint of Punta Pranu Santa Vittoria.
