The pathway
Roadbook
The trail starts at the riding track at the entrance to the village of Villanova Monteleone, heading east, along the asphalted municipal road for about 6 km. After 3rd km it comes across the starting point of the E 301 trail that leads to Monte Minerva.
The trails continues skirting the Badu Ladu stream in the Pittu area; after about 3 km it rises in altitude and continues between two dry stone walls for about another 5 km to reach then the rocky crest that separates the valley from the plateau in the Fissanu region.
The last stretch before reaching the plateau consists of a rocky ramp where maximum attention must be paid (if necessary dismount from the horse and continue on foot). Once the plateau has been reached, the trail continues on a vaste pasture and then reaches the Romana area via a dirt road used for agricultural use. With a short detour, it is possible to reach the sanctuary of San Lussorio.
Once the village of Romana has been reached, the trail comes across the short E 203A trail, which is the direct access route to the village; however, being characterized by a steep slope and slippery surface, it is off-limits to horses and bicycles and is recommended for experienced hikers. The E 203 A trail rejoins the E 203 at the public wash house in Romana where they both end.
