Su Fundu Mannu - Mount Gennargentu - Quaddu Murru (D-305)
The pathway
Roadbook
You take an uphill track, ravaged in some points by floods, following the trail of anold charcoal makers' mule track, also used to reach the mining sites at the top of the mountain. Initially you’ll find yourself on slopes covered by sparse scrub, with isolated wild olive trees. You head left at a thalweg, starting to climb more steeply.
The climb gives you no respite, but you enter a stretch of young woodland. Through the foliage of holm oaks you can glimpse the striking limestone peaks of Fluminimaggiore, including Punta Pubusinu. You climb steep hairpin bends through the forest, exiting in an extremely panoramic area in the pass between the summit of Monte Argentu (Mount Gennargentu) to the north and that of Punta Bau Mannu to the south. At the pass, at Su Quaddu Murru, you meet the intersection with trail 304 and with the one, now in the planning, which leads back to Fluminimaggiore.
