The trail starts in the Orbisi valley, keeping parallel to the Codula Orbisi, and continues gently downhill for about 800 m to the splendidly restored sheepfold of Cuile Pitt’e Rutta, where you can take a well-deserved rest. From the rocky ridge that surrounds it, it is possible to admire the heart of the Supramonte formed by the confluence of the Rio Flumineddu and Rio Orbisi, which have carved out their valleys over the millennia.
The trail continues, intersecting on the left trail B-504 a, which allows you to ford Codula Orbisi and reach Sedda Ar Baccas. A little further on, at S’iscalone de su Portellu, on the cliff overlooking the valley, you will discover stunning views. You are right above the cleft of Su Cunn’e S’Ebba, where the stream, after flowing through the Donini cave, forms a beautiful waterfall and then joins the Flumineddu at Sa Giuntura before entering the Gorropu gorge. You can admire Ar Baddes in the Supramonte of Orgosolo.
Continuing northwards on rocky and stony terrain, slightly uphill, you will reach Cuile Cuccutos, the traditional stone and wood huts that for centuries were the solitary dwellings of Sardinia’s shepherds, around which goats, sheep and pigs were reared.
