Montarbu - Perda Liana loop (T-113)

From the Service Centre of the Montarbu Forest (where overnight accommodation is available) the trail climbs to the highest peak of the state-owned territory (Pizzu Margiani Pubusa alias Fox and Hoopoe Point") which stands 1320 m tall, offering spectacular views  stretching from the cliffs of Mount Tonneri to the Flumendosa Valley and the Gennargentu of Arzana to the north; to the area of Perda Liana to the east; to the forest of Montarbu, Taccu Mannu and the tacchi of Ogliastra to the south; and to Barbagia di Seulo to the west. Leaving the summit, the descent begins and after edging close to the karst sinkhole of Su Stampu, 48 m deep, you continue on to S'arcu e Pirastu Trottu from where an ascent leads into the territory of Gairo Sant’Elena towards the limestone tower of Perda Liana.
