The Lanaitto Valley (also written Lanaitho or Lanaittu) is nestled in an enchanting setting within the territories of Oliena and Dorgali, among imposing limestone ridges that have created sinkholes, canyons, pinnacles, and caves. It would be a lunar landscape if it weren't covered by lush woods with a thousand shades of green: holm oaks, terebinth trees, maples, wild olive trees, and ancient junipers embrace dirt and winding paths. The silence is broken only by the rustling of the leaves. Among natural monuments, prehistoric sites, and pinnettos - shepherds' shelters turned into trekking refuges - it's easy to spot mouflons or glimpse the flight of eagles. Bring trekking shoes, a backpack, a water bottle, and don't forget your smartphone and binoculars.
