A very evocative area in the Settefratelli forest, rich in history and charm. An important crossroads between the Sentiero Italia (C-800), the C-801 trail, and the 802 trail (which starts from here to reach Bruncu Poni Fogu). The area definitely deserves a stop to stroll around, through the boulders and centuries-old cork oaks, to glimpse the remains of the numerous buildings and walls that remain, as traces of ancient frequentation.
According to some historical accounts, the "sarrabuesa" road connected Cagliari to Ogliastra, crossing Sarrabus right along the passes of the Settefratelli massif. Among the first stops would have been Su cunventu itself, then the Malvicino castle (reaching Porto Corallo-Villaputzu, called by locals su Casteddu de Gibas), while the third stop was the Quirra castle (according to an average daily journey of about 30/40 km).
