The village-sanctuary of Abini is one of the most famous and important in Nuragic Sardinia. It consists of numerous huts and a sacred well protected by an enclosure. The huts are predominantly circular in plan. The covering of the rooms consisted of poles and branches, it is possible, however, that in the smaller rooms the ceiling was obtained with overhanging lithic slabs.
Some huts have distinctive elements, such as the seat bench along the inner wall perimeter and the basin in a central position. Others have yielded copper slag, demonstrating that they were metal smelting sites. In the well, devoid of the vestibule and access staircase, the circular mouth opens - as happens in the common wells located inside and near the nuraghi - at the level of the floor. The well is connected to a courtyard with an elliptical plan, divided into two sectors by an eccentric straight partition with a wide median opening. Access to the well was from the smaller sector which does not show particular architectural features, while the larger one is equipped with a seat bench.
