The trail starts from the cemetery of Villasalto, at the entrance to the village. From there it climbs up towards the vegetable plots at Su Pardu, bordered by old dry-stone walls, nowadays mainly used as cattle pens. There are drinking troughs for livestock along the way.
The route then reaches the plateau of Su Pardu and the Belvedere atop a limestone crag, which forms a natural terrace overlooking the most striking landscape features of Gerrei. From the Belvedere you can admire the rooftops of the village of Armungia, the peak of Mount Genis, the path cut by the Flumendosa river, the landscape of the plateau and Mount Lora.
