The pathway
Roadbook
The first part of the trail, up to the entrance of Sa Lacunedda, is a dirt road that can also be covered on horseback or bike.
The stretch of Sa Lacunedda crosses areas covered with natural vegetation. At the top is the Santa Barbara cave, saint to whom the people of Villa Salto are very devoted and who is celebrated on the first Monday of June with a procession that reaches the cave.
From Santa Barbara cave, you head downhill, turning right, towards Margaida, the spring that supplies the first municipal aqueduct. Along this stretch you cross areas covered with natural vegetation. There is a panoramic rest stop with a drinking fountain.
Continuing along the dirt road, you reach the stretch of Sa Porta 'e Genna Caredda, which leads up to the Belvedere of Su Pardu. Skirting the rocky cliffs, you proceed uphill along a natural corridor bordered by dry-stone walls.
From the Belvedere you have a splendid view of the town of Armungia and the Flumendosa valley.Pressing on along the Su Pardu stretch, you can see the old vegetable plots, today partly used as livestock enclosures, bordered with dry-stone walls, which are a distinctive reminder of the ethnographic traditions of this area.
Continuing uphill, you reach the peak of Mount Pardu (543 m a.s.l.) where you can enjoy splendid views over the village of Villasalto and as far as Flumendosa valley.
