The pathway

The Nolau trail takes its name from the place that is the site of the Prunittu necropolis.
The essential theme of the route is archaeology and history seen through religious worship, and the trail winds its way among domus de janas and country churches. The term ‘domus de janas’ means fairy houses, but the structures in question are actually tombs dug into the rock by Sardinia’s Neolithic populations. There are also many landscape attractions, above all Lake Omodeo. We recommend a brief stop at the parish church of Sorradile, dedicated to Saint Sebastian the martyr who, according to legend, saved the population from the plague.

Roadbook

The trail proceeds in the direction of the Shrine of Santa Maria di Turrana (13th century), where you can stop in the large square. Not far from the Shrine are the domus de janas of Prunittu.
