The pathway
Roadbook
From Arcu Artilai, turn north-east, identifying the path that goes up a slope in the direction of the summit ridge. You will ascend steeply along a path that is not always very clear and bends slightly to the left. The area is home to mouflons and you might catch a glimpse of the golden eagle in flight, taking advantage of the thermal air currents that occur here.
You will reach a dirt track at a wide bend. Turn right, and you will soon get to the summit of Bruncu Spina, where there are some service buildings for the ski lifts below, and some telecommunications antennas. From the summit of Bruncu, the expansive view ranges, in addition to the Gennargentu massif, over much of Supramonte, Barbagia and Mandrolisai, stretching as far as the west coast and Ogliastra.
