The point of interest
How to get here
Having reached the Abini farmhouse, you descend to skirt the Taloro River, and here, in a vast grassy area right below the farmhouse, you encounter the monumental huts of Abini. The Proto-Sardinian village owes its fame to the discovery of celebrated bronze statuettes, such as the warrior with two shields and four eyes, one of the finest examples of Proto-Sardinian art. The monumentality of the buildings excavated so far suggests that it was undoubtedly a center of great importance, and it is surprising to find it in a place that is so evocative and isolated today. After visiting the site, you return along the same road, perhaps taking advantage of the hospitality of the nearby farmhouse before setting off again.
