Perda Niedda - Arenas Mine (D-330)
The pathway
Roadbook
You set off from the Perda Niedda agritourism, currently closed, taking a pleasant track north and after a short way you come across the cut-off linking up with trail 327B. Continue uphill, following a wide hairpin bend skirting the open-top mine of Perda Niedda and then proceed on level ground through the woods.
You come to a fork in the road which on the right leads along a track to Oridda valley (not indicated). Here, instead, you stay left, crossing a thick wood of strawberry trees, skirting a section forest dedicated to felling tests, and continuing on to Sa Tellura, where you come to the ruins of a mining site and an abandoned stone quarry. Heading north-east (not indicated) you would soon reach trail 332 via a pleasant track and from there, the area of Oridda.
Continue along the track, through a thick strawberry tree wood, heading in a northwesterly direction, until you enter a holm oak forest at Su Barracconi. Here you encounter two dirt roads in rapid succession, with the second of the two also forming part of trail 330A. Take the lovely track through the wood, initially on level ground and then gradually descending slightly until you reach the Arenas mine near the old truck weighbridge. In the last few metres of the route, trails 330A, 332, 336 and 331 merge with the track, configuring the mine as a nodal point for hiking in these mountain.
