The trail starts at the bridge over the Rio Gutturu Cardaxius on provincial road no. 83 heading east, on the border with the municipality of Iglesias; the trail is easy, leading directly to Gutturu Cardaxius.
Continuing on, you come to the mine of Scalittas and then that of San Luigi. From this location you proceed on to the ancient rural village of Grùgua, where there are settlements dating from the Paleolithic to the present day.
Taking the municipal dirt road (302), you cross the sites of Mount Anna and Planedda managed by the Forestry Authority, before reaching Genna Arenas (302). Along the trail, at Grùgua, you come across the Modigliani villa, once owned by the rich Jewish family of the famous painter from Leghorn.
