Baccu Malu (Junction for Is seddas de Tullinu)

There are still 1.3 km to go, the ascent resumes, we will remain on the track, passing in front of the Baccu Malu refuge structures, with some crosses and a commemorative plaque of the tragic 2004 plane crash that involved the team of the cardiac surgeon Dr. Ricchi: it was February 24, 2004, when a Cessna aircraft crashed during a "lifesaving" flight to transport a new heart to a patient at Brotzu awaiting a transplant. In this last section, the path runs alongside the scene of the tragedy, and in the woods among the trees, the mechanical remains of the aircraft can still be found.
