This notable point falls within the vast area of the Supramonte of Urzulei and is characterized by the presence of an imposing plateau deeply carved by a suggestive and winding valley, the Codula 'e Ilune, on whose hydrographic banks converge, descending deep gorges, dolines and sinkholes.
The plateau thus carved out gives rise to two ridges: one located to the east, on which Punta Onnunanziu, P.ta Iscala Manna, P.ta Salavarrò, and, closer to the Codula 'e Ilune, P.ta Venadores, P.ta Su Crabargiu, P.ta Os Mufrones stand out; the other, to the west, called Serra Oseli, included between Monte Oseli and the karst plateau of Campu Esone, adjacent to the territory of Baunei.
Between the two ridges, there is one of the most famous island canyons formed over millennia thanks to the erosive activity imparted by an ancient watercourse that descended from the mountain towards the sea. A real stream that has been partly swallowed underground, due to the various karst complexes present.
Numerous itineraries run along the mid-slopes of the overhanging walls that, from the karst plateau of Campu Esone and Palumbrosa, slope down towards the bank of the famous canyon.
It can be reached, not without difficulty due to the road conditions, near the small bridge that overlooks the Codula 'e Ilune riverbed (altitude: approximately 200 m).
