The Santu Miali (San Michele) peaks are, among the upper ridges of the Linas mountain range, those closest to the town of Villacidro.
There are exactly 5, all above 1000 m: considering them from the Northwest (the point farthest from the town), and proceeding towards the East (the point closest to the town) there are:
- Cucuru de sa Mundadura, 1047 m, near which the homonymous water spring is located
- Cucuru de sa Cresia, 1057 m
- Cucuru de Mesu, 1062 m
- Cucuru de Tuvaruttas, 1047 m
- Punta de Niarcui, 1033 m
These peaks form a rounded plateau used by monks to build hermitages and the church of San Michele (in Sardinian "Miali"), from which this alignment of peaks takes its name. Once reached, you have the sensation of being on an enormous panoramic plateau. Today, only the ruins of those monastic structures remain near Cucuru de sa Cresia.
The vegetation is sparse, consisting of yellowish grasses, which give the typical color to the Linas mountains, vast meadows covered with wild thyme (Thymus herba-barona) and some trees completely bent by the strong Mistral wind.
