The long C-102 trail arrives at the forest entrance point, near State Road 125.
Located in the central part of the Ogliastra province, the forest falls almost entirely within the administrative territory of the Municipality of Jerzu.
The Bingionniga forest preserve has a total area of 580 hectares.
The main body consists of the Bingionniga State Forest, with an area of 444 hectares; the second body, called Mammutara, instead, is represented by municipal land under a thirty-year concession, with a total area of 136 hectares.
In addition to the spectacular "tacchi" (limestone plateaus), the panoramas and the famous Mammutara fire lookout, located in a privileged position on a rock that allows you to admire the territory 360 degrees, are noteworthy.
