In the woods, especially near the mountain tops, unexpected thunderstorms are common. Small but useful measures if caught in a thunderstorm are: don’t stand under trees, it’s better to shelter under overhanging rock or near a small cave or hollow in the mountain. Move further downhill away from the summit.
