Planargia
: description

Planargia is a sub-region of north-central western Sardinia, between the lower valley of the river Temo and the northern slopes of Montiferru, presently lying entirely within he Province of Oristano. Planargia, which owes its name to the territory’s mainly high-plateau morphology, offers visitors and hikers the chance to wander from the verdant hills to the coastand the deep blue waters of Riviera del corallo (thestretch from Bosa to Alghero is especially well-preserved and wild and can bereached via the winding SS 129 bis"Trasversale Sarda" road and the Provincial 105 Bosa-Alghero road).Located north-west of the Montiferru massif,it can in turn be considered a sub-region of Logudoro: however, as it is geographically closer to Oristano than to Sassari, on an administrative level it isseparate from the other sub-regions of Logudoro. The main town is Bosa, one of the seven royal cities of Sardinia. Planargia is characterised by hot, dry summers while the climate in winter sees cool temperatures and high levels of humidity, due to its exposure to the Libeccio winds: this particular microclimate makes its hills ideal for the cultivation of Malvasia wine especially in areas near Montresta, Modolo Tresnuraghes and Magomadas.
