The point of interest

The Nuragic complex of Urceni consists of a nuraghe and various circular buildings sheltered by a wall on the most exposed side. The nuraghe, of a simple single-tower type, is in a fair state of preservation despite the tholos that covered the chamber being almost completely collapsed. The imposing staircase, which led to the upper floor, is well preserved. The nuraghe's most striking feature is undoubtedly the large entrance door, which has a height much greater than average.

Behind the nuraghe are numerous circular buildings, some of which are particularly well preserved and characterized by niches in the walls.

The complex is protected by high walls, in a good state of preservation, through which a corridor entrance opens.

How to get here

From the center of Osini, follow the signs for Scala di San Giorgio and proceed uphill until you reach a narrow gorge, which leads to a fork in the road.

For Nuraghe Urceni, take the road on the right, which also leads to Nuraghe Serbissi. Proceed by car until the end of the paved section. Continue until you reach a second fork. Follow the sign for Nuraghe Urceni and proceed on the left road for 3 kilometers until you reach the foot of the small hill where the Nuragic complex is located.
